Here we see the repair of gear shaft. They bore holes in the steel good shaft, put thread and insert a metal siffener with thread and then weld. Strong eh. Good for next 5 years?
They say this is next to impossible, one of the most difficult repair job in a Subaru. Some say you need to remove the engine. But some say it is easy.
At the driver side, remove the battery. At the battery side, remove the air intake.
Then remove the coil, and then insert the 14 mm spark plug removal tool. The spark plug should go with the spark plug socket removal tool.
I hope it is easy. I have not replaced the spark plug of the subaru. (There is a subaru spark plug and aftermarket)
